‘A Beautiful Revolution’ under scrutiny

ifilm critically examines recently aired series – part 1

As the finale of ifilm series ‘A Beautiful Revolution’ was aired on Tuesday July 3, with replays on Wednesday, we’ll be providing our audience with an analytic account of the events in the story, in a few parts.

Woman, represents a territory and hence, the word ‘Beautiful’ in the series title, allegorically implies a territory, i.e. Iran. The series, all the way through, is replete with such a theme.

Able and Cane are names most people know; they’re the sons of prophet Adam (AS), the forefather of all human beings. However, one of the two men who are on Beautiful’s side, belongs to the tribe of Able (his name is Hamed), while the other one belongs to that of Cane’s (he is called Jaber).

The deep-rooted story of Iranian’s (Able’s tribe) willingness to take revenge from Jaber’s tribe (that of Cane’s) is based on the trust they (the territory, i.e. Beautiful, and Hamed, i.e. Able’s tribe) show in Jaber, who (with his tribe) repeats his capital crime.

The interaction among Beautiful and Jaber, is proportionate to their success. So, as he gets away from her, he fails to carry out his plans; whereas whenever he manages to have her trust, he succeeds.

Hamed’s mother, is a symbol of the territory’s mothers.  Both she and her husband were many years ago tortured by Jaber, in the same detention center. The only person who recognizes Jaber’s plots from the outset, is her. She never trusts him, and all the time, supports her daughter-in-law (Beautiful or Iran).
